Limescale Filter
Prescribed Use of a Limescale Filter with a Water Boiler
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your water boiler, the use of a limescale filter is highly recommended, especially in areas with hard water. Limescale buildup inside the boiler can lead to reduced efficiency, increased energy consumption, and potential damage to internal components.
Why Use a Limescale Filter?
A limescale filter effectively removes calcium and magnesium particles from the water before they enter the boiler, preventing the formation of deposits. This helps:
✔ Extend the lifespan of your water boiler
✔ Maintain heating efficiency, reducing energy consumption
✔ Improve water quality, preventing unpleasant tastes and odors
✔ Reduce maintenance needs, lowering the risk of breakdowns
Particularly Important in the South of France
Water in the South of France is known for its high mineral content, meaning it contains significant amounts of calcium and magnesium, which lead to limescale buildup. If left untreated, limescale can quickly accumulate inside boilers, pipes, and appliances, reducing their efficiency and lifespan. Installing a limescale filter is crucial in this region to protect your boiler and maintain water quality.
Is the use of a limescale filter mandatory?
Although we cannot force you to install a limescale filter, we have to inform you that you warranty will be voided once it becomes clear that you have not used a proper maintained
How to Use the Limescale Filter
- Installation – The filter should be connected to the cold water inlet of the boiler, ensuring all incoming water is properly treated before reaching the heating elements.
- Replacement – Depending on usage and water hardness, the filter should be replaced every 6 months or after a certain number of liters, as specified by the manufacturer.
- Regular Maintenance – Check the filter periodically for signs of saturation or reduced water flow. If the filter is clogged, replace it immediately to maintain the boiler’s efficiency. You will notice this because the debit of the water is slowly descending (it will take longer to fill a cup with water).
Using a limescale filter as prescribed will not only protect your water boiler but also enhance its performance, ensuring a reliable and consistent supply of hot water—especially in areas with high limescale concentrations like the South of France.
