FAQ
Does a Quooker have a filter?
+
Does a Quooker have a filter?
+
Yes – every Quooker tap comes with a built-in HiTAC filter inside the boiling water tank, which enhances the taste of the boiling water. This carbon-based filter effectively removes contaminants and impurities, absorbing chlorine, pesticides, and organic pollutants to deliver water that looks, smells, and tastes fresher.
If you have a Cube or Cold Water Filter installed, your drinking water will be filtered as well.
Please note: The HiTAC filter is not designed to remove limescale. For more details on limescale filtration, click here.

How can I tell if the CO₂ cylinder is empty, and how do I replace it?
+
If your Quooker’s sparkling water has lost its fizz, it’s time to replace the CO₂ cylinder.
To do this, simply unscrew the empty CO₂ canister from the white plastic holder at the top by turning it counterclockwise. Next, remove the plastic wrapper and red cap from the new CO₂ canister, and then screw it into the holder clockwise. You'll hear a slight hiss as you tighten it—continue until no more gas escapes.
New CO₂ canisters are available in a set of four.

For those using a Cold Water Filter or CUBE, your cartridge will emit a beep after 12 months to indicate that it's time for a replacement. (Note: Some older models featured a six-month timer, but replacement cartridges ordered after 2021 are designed to last 12 months.)
If you have a Scale Control R or Scale Control Plus, the meter will automatically beep when the cartridge requires replacement—the actual lifespan depends on your local water hardness.
Replacement cartridges are available for order through our webshop.
How does the Quooker system work?
+
How does the Quooker system work?
+
The Quooker system features a compact tank installed in your kitchen cupboard that connects directly to the Quooker tap on your countertop. Using our patented vacuum insulation technology, the system maintains water under pressure at the perfect temperature, so you have instant access to 100°C boiling water without needing to boil it on demand. Additionally, when you add a CUBE tank under your sink, you can enjoy chilled, filtered, and sparkling water—all from the same tap.
How do I get boiling water directly from the tap?

How do I get boiling water directly from the tap?
+
All Quooker taps provide boiling water with a simple push-push-turn of the bezel—the ring at the base of the tap spout. This patented mechanism, inspired by a child-safe medicine bottle, is designed to prevent accidental dispensing of boiling water, ensuring safety for both children and first-time users.
Can I connect my Quooker to softened water?
+
Can I connect my Quooker to softened water?
+
Yes, you can connect your Quooker to softened water as long as it meets French drinking water standards—if you're unsure, please check with your water supplier. Additionally, the water should have a minimum pressure of 2 bar (ideally between 2.5 and 6 bar) and a pH between 6.5 and 9.5, with moderate salt content. Alternatively, you may connect your Quooker to a hard water supply and install a Quooker Scale Control R to control limescale.

Unless you plan to be away for a month or more, it's best to leave your Quooker on. It only costs about 3c per day to run.
How do I switch my Quooker system on or off?
+
How do I switch my Quooker system on or off?
+
To turn off your Quooker system, press the 'Q'-shaped button on the top of the tank. For older models, the switch is located on the right side at the back of the tank, next to where the LED cable is connected.
Where is my Quooker's serial number located?
+

+
You'll find it on a sticker positioned near the top of the tank's side.
How can I reset my Quooker system?
+
How can I reset my Quooker system?
+
Turn off your Quooker by switching it off on the tank's top and unplugging it from the power outlet.
Locate the thin black LED cable running from the tap to the top rear of the tank. Unplug this cable, wipe the connector tip with a clean, dry cloth, and then plug it back in.
If your tank’s serial number includes "VCD" or "VCW", you'll find two available LED ports. If one is covered by a plastic cap, remove the cap and insert the LED cable into that port. (For those with a Cold Water Filter or CUBE, there will be two LED cables; in that case, swap the cables so that each is connected to the alternate port.)
Reconnect the tank to the power supply while keeping it switched off.
Run the boiling water tap for about three minutes to refill the tank.
Leave the tank off for an additional 15 minutes, then turn it back on. At this point, you should see a steady red light on both the tap and the tank.
After another 10–20 minutes, the tank's light should gradually begin to pulse like a heartbeat, and the tap’s light will turn off. Once this happens, your Quooker system is fully reset and ready for use.
Is a Quooker suitable for installation in any kitchen?
+
Is a Quooker suitable for installation in any kitchen?
+
Yes, as long as the installation requirements are met. For a Flex, Front, or Fusion tap, no extra hole is needed in your worktop since it replaces your existing mixer tap. If there isn't sufficient space under your sink for the Quooker tank, you can use a Quooker extension hose, which lets you position the tank up to two metres away from the sink. Extension hoses can be ordered as an optional extra when you purchase your Quooker, or, if you've already ordered, you can buy one separately here.
Is any maintenance required for a Quooker?
+
Is any maintenance required for a Quooker?
+
A Quooker generally requires minimal maintenance. However, in areas with hard water, limescale may build up at the tap. If you notice that water is flowing slower than usual, try unscrewing the nozzle to remove the aerator, and soak it in white vinegar for about an hour. After rinsing off any limescale, reassemble the tap. If the flow remains sluggish, there might be limescale accumulation inside the tank, which will then need to be cleaned.
You can book a routine maintenance visit through our website.
What are the requirements prior to installation?
+
What are the requirements prior to installation?
+
Connection & Isolation:
The system must connect to existing services that are fully operational. You must provide clear instructions on where to isolate the water or power if needed when our engineer arrives.
Required Services:
A 13-amp power socket is needed (or two 13-amp sockets if a CUBE is specified), along with waste, hot, and cold water supplies. These services must be located within 500mm of the intended installation area, below worktop height, and easily accessible. If only one socket is available and a CUBE is required, a Powerswitch can be added.
Water Pressure:
The minimum water pressure required is 2 bar for both hot and cold water. (Note: COMBI tanks only need a cold water supply.)
Space:
There must be sufficient space for the tank and any required accessories.
If these conditions are not met upon our engineer's arrival, a return visit may be necessary, which will be charged separately.

What Type of Warranty Do I Have?
+
What Type of Warranty Do I Have?
+
Your Quooker system comes with a 2-year warranty from the installation date, covering all manufacturing and material defects. This warranty guarantees that your system will be restored to its original condition, free of charge, if a defect occurs.
If your Quooker system isn’t working optimally, please contact our service department immediately via your My Quooker account. Make sure you have your proof of purchase ready and that your serial number is registered in your account.
Please note, however, that the warranty will not apply in certain cases. It becomes void if the Quooker system was not installed according to our installation guidelines or if it is used in a non-domestic or improper manner. Damages resulting from misuse, inadequate maintenance, extreme scaling, or significant contamination from external factors are not covered. Additionally, if a Quooker system is improperly disassembled or repaired by unqualified third parties, the warranty will also be void.
What is the energy consumption of my Quooker system?
+
What is the energy consumption of my Quooker system?
+
A Quooker boiling water reservoir consumes only 10W in standby, which translates to about 0.24 kWh per day—less than the standby power used by a typical TV or router.
COMBI reservoirs, which supply both boiling and hot water, are connected to the water supply and a heating element. Because they meet the requirements for “boilers,” they must be energy labeled; COMBI models are rated A in the XXS category. In contrast, the PRO3 reservoir provides only boiling water, and since there is no EU energy label directive for boiling water reservoirs, it does not receive one. Despite this, the PRO3 is just as energy-efficient as a COMBI reservoir.
